The command is relevant when spanning-tree is disabled globally or on a single interface.
Example
The following example defines BPDU packet flooding when spanning-tree is disabled on an
interface
.
console(config)# spanning-tree bpdu flooding

clear spanning-tree detected-protocols

The clear spanning-tree detected-protocols Privileged EXEC mode command restarts the protocol
migration process (forces the renegotiation with neighboring Ethernet Switch Modulees) on all
interfaces or on the specified interface.
Syntax
clear spanning-tree detected-protocols [ethernet interface | port-channel port-channel-
number]
interface — A valid Ethernet port.
port-channel-number — A valid port-channel index.
Default Configuration
If no interface is specified, the action is applied to all interfaces.

Privileged EXEC mode
User Guidelines
This feature should be used only when working in RSTP mode.
Example
The following example restarts the protocol migration process (forces the renegotiation with
neighboring Ethernet Switch Modulees) on port g11.
console# clear spanning-tree detected-protocols ethernet g11
