Troubleshooting
Check these points to help save you time and money.
Problem
Solution
Foodsoil remainson dishes
• Checkwater temperature. Incoming water shouldbe 120° F (49° C).
• Run hotwaterat thesink beforestartingthe dishwasher.
• Checkwater hardnessand adjustdetergentamountaccordingly
(pg. 15).
• Use freshdetergentstored in a cooldry place.
• Selectpropercyclefor the soil level(pg.17).
• Selectproperoption,Hi Temp.
• Make surethe upperrackwash armconnectoris correctlyalignedin
one of the waterinlet holes(pg.14).
• Load itemsso they do notblock thewash arms (pgs.11-12).
• Load the utensilbasketwith knife handlesup andspoonand fork
handlesdown.
• Do not placeglassesover tines.
• Beforeloading,scrapeoff burnt-onfoods and wipethe starchyfilm
from utensilsusedwith pasta,riceand oatmeal.Thesesoils require
moreenergythan the restof the load to clean.
Items washedin the dishwasher
or the dishwasher tub itselfis
stained/discolored
•Aluminumutensilsor panscan leavemarkswhenthey rub against
otheritems.Leavea slight spacebetweenitems.
• Irondepositsin thewater can leavea yellow,brownor orangefilm on
dishesor thedishwashertub.A rust filter may be needed.Checkwith
a watertreatmentcompany.
• Separatesilveror silver-plated silverwarefrom stainlesssteel.These
metalscanbe damagedby contactwith each otherduringwashing.
• Colorfrom tomatosaucesmayadhereto the interiorparts of the
dishwasher(pg.21). If lightstaininghasoccurred,leavethe door open
to oxidizethe stainaway.Usea dishwasherdetergentthat contains
chlorineto betterfight staining.
• Certaindishwasherdetergentsmaystain silver.Try anotherbrandof
detergent.
Items not properlydried/
moistureis presenton the
dishwasher interiorafterthe
dry cycle
• Be sureAir Dry is notselected.
• Waterdropletsmayform on the innerdoor as partof thedrying
process.
• Use a rinseaid separatefrom the detergentlikeJet Dry*or Cascade
RinseAid* regularlyto improvedrying.Turnthe rinseaid selector
towardthe MAXsetting.
• Checkwater temperature. Incoming water shouldbe 120° F (49° C).
• SelectSanitize option.
• Increasedetergentamountto matchwater hardness(pg.15).
• Load properly. ( pgs. 11-12)
• Plasticand itemswith non-stick surfacesare difficulttodry because
they havea poroussurfacewhichtends to collectwater droplets.
Toweldryingmay be necessary.
• Glassesand cupswith concavebottomsholdwater and requiretowel
drying. Locatethese itemson the moreslantedsideof therack for
improvedresults.
