thermostat, properly located, i s needed forcontroloftheheating system. I fyou
haveanydoubtsasto thevariousrequirements, checkwith localauthorities
and obtainprofessional help whereneeded. T ake thetime to complete all of
thestepsfor SAFE andPROPER o peration of theheating system.
Ifthis boileris installed in a buildingunder construction, special c aremustbe
taken to insure a cleancombustion air supplyduringtheconstruction process.

canclogtheburnerportsandcauseincomplete combustion andsootfng.

Theinstallationmustconformto the requirements o f the authorityhaving
jurisdiction or, in theabsence of suchrequirements, to theNational F uelGas
Code, A NSIZ223.1-1atest revision.
In Canada, t he boiler shall be installedaccordingto CSA-B149.1 and .2,
Installation CodeforGasBurningAppliances andEquipment.
Installers - Followlocalregulations with respect t o installationof CO
detectors.Follow maintenance recommendations in this instruction
manual.

1. Selectlevellocation ascentralized with pipingsystem, a ndasnearchim-
ney,as possible.
2. Placecratedboiler at selectedlocation,removecrate by pulling crate
sidesfrom topandbottomboards. C ombustible floors:Whenboileris to
be installedon a combustible floor,a Special B asePlatemustbeused-
146-14-031 (2-6 Section) or 146-14-032 (7-9 Section). T hisboilermust
not be installed on carpeting.
3. Boileris to be level.Metalshimsmay be usedunderbaselegsfor final
leveling.
4. Additional c learances for servicemayexceed clearances f or fire protec-
tion. Alwayscomplywith theminimumfire protection clearances s hown
on the boiler,An 18 inch clearance shouldbe maintained on any side
wherepassage is required toaccess anothersidefor cleaning, s ervicing,
inspection or replacement ofanypartthatmayneedattention. A n 18 inch
clearance is recommended o n the controlsidefor servicing.
Figure 2 shows minimum clearancesto combustible construction.

asroomshavinga volumeequalto or greater t han16 timesthevolume
ofthe boiler.Where theactualceilingheightof a roomis greaterthat8',
thevolumeof a roomshallbe figuredon thebasisof a ceilingheightof
