2. Searsdoes not warrant the installation.
3. A charge wilt be made on service calls due to poor or incomplete
installation.These include:
a. Adjustingthermostat
b. Lightingpilot
c.Leaksin pipes or fittings
d. Improper venting
e. Condensation
This manual is in non-technical hnguage. It may help you ,avoidthe
cost of a needless service'call.Manyservice calls reallyarent needed.
Such aswhen:
1. The gas is turned "OFF".
2. The pilot is out.
3. A gas orwater leak is due to loose pipe orconnections.
LIMITED WARRANTY ON TANKS THAT LEAK
Through five(5) yearsfrom the dateof purchase:ira leak occursin the rank, Searswill furnish, freeof charge,a new current modelwater
heaterof alosestavailablecapacityand quality.If purchaserdoes not qualifyfor free installationasprovided in the One YearLimitedLabor
Warranty below,there will be a chargefor installation.
If the replacement w ater heater of closestavailablecapacityand quality doesnot meet currentapplicablegovernment standards,therewill be
a chargefor the difference in price between the replacementwhich does not meet government s tandardsand onewhich doesmeet govern-
ment standards
If the water heater is subjected to commercial, institutional, or industrial use or use in residences of two families or more, the above warranty
coverage for tanks that leak is effective for two years from the date of purchase and the Limited Warranty On Parrs below is effective for one
year from the date of purchase.
LIMITED WARRANTY ON PARTS
Through one (1) year from the date of purchase, when your Sears Kenmore water heater is installed and operated in accordance with the
instructions in this manual, ifa part fails due to a failure in materials or workmanship, Sears will furnish a replacement part free of charge.
If purchaser does not qualify for free installation as provided in the One Year Limited Labor Warranty below, there will be a charge for
installation.
ONE YEAR HMITED LABOR WARRANTY ON WATER HEATER
When your Sears Kenmore water heater is installed by Sears or its licensed subcontractor and is operated in accordance with the instructions
in this manual, Sears will, for one year from the date of purchase:
Install, free of charge, the replacement water heater as provided by the above Limited Tank LeakWarranty.
Repair,free of charge, defects in materials or workmanship of the water heater as provided by the above Limited Warranty on Parts.
To obtain warranty service, SIMPLY CALL 1-800-4-MY-HOME (1-800-469-4663). This warranty applies only while this product is in use
in the United States.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Sears Installation Warranty
In addition to any warranty extended to you on the Searsmerchandise
involved,which warranty becomeseffectivethe date the merchandiseis
installed should the workmanship of any Sears arranged installation
prove faulty within one year, Sears will, upon notice from you, cause
such faultsto be correctedat no additionalcost to you. If you want this
heater professionallyinstalled by Searscontact your Sears Salesperson.
They will arrange for prompt, quality installation.
Sears Installation Policy
All installation labor arranged by Sears shall be performed in a neat,
workmanlike manner in accordance with generally accepted trade prac-
tices. Further, all installations shall comply with all local laws, codes
regulations and ordinances. The customer shall also be protected,, dur-
ing installation, by insurance relating to property damage, Worker's
Compensation and Public Liability.
If you want this water heater professionally installed by Sears contact
your Salesperson. They will arrange for prompt, quality installation by
Sears authorized contractors.
