BEFORE LIGHTING [PROPANE (L.P,) GAS WATER
HEATERS]: Propane(LR) gasis heavier than air, Shouldthere
be a leak in the system, the gas will settle near the ground.
Basements, crawl spaces,skirted areas under mobile homes
(evenwhenventilated),closetsandareasbelow groundI_el will
serve as pockets for the accumulation of this gas. Before
attempting to light or relight the water heater'spilot or turning
on a nearbyelectricallight switch,be absolutelysumthere isno
accumulatodgasin the area. Searchfor odor of gasbysnimng at
groundlevel in the vicinityof the appliance.If odor is detected,
followstepsindicatedat "For Your Safety" on the coverpageof
thismanualthen leavethe premise_
