1. With enginenot running,movethrottle
controllever to fast position.
2. Checkthat swivel is against stop. If it is
not, loosencable clampscrew and pull
cable back until swivel is against stop.
Tightencable clampscrew securely.
TO ADJUST CHOKE CONTROL
The chokecontrol has been preset at the
factory and adjustmentshould not be nec-
essary.Checkadjustmentas described
below beforelooseningcable. If adjust-
ment is necessary,proceed as follows:
1. With enginenot running,movechoke
control (locatedon dash panel)to full
chokeposition.
2. Loosen knoband removecover as-
semblyfrom air cleaner.
3. Choke shouldbe closed.If it is not,
loosencasing clamp screw and move
chokecable until choke is completely
closed.Tightencasing clamp screw
securely.
4. Replaceair cleaner coverassembly
and tighten knob.
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
Yourcarburetoris not adjustable.If your
engine does not operate properlydue to
suspectedcarburetorproblems,take your
tractor to a Sears or other qualifiedservice
center for repair and/oradjustment.
High speed stop is factory adjusted. Do
not adjust- damage may result.
IMPORTANT:Nevertamper with the
engine governor,which is factory set
for proper enginespeed. Overspeed-
ing the engineabove the factory high
speed settingcan be dangerous. If you
think the engine-governedhigh speed
needs adjusting,contacta Sears or other
qualifiedservice center,,which has proper
equipmentand experienceto makeany
necessaryadjustments.
