The objective of site preparation is to prepare your site for the successful and timely installation of
this HP product. Proper site preparation is vital for the reliability of the disk array.
Site preparation involves a careful balance of equipment design criteria, site environmental variables,
your business needs, and your budget constraints.
In addition to this guide, other resources may be available to you. The HP service organization is
committed to making sure you receive maximum benefit from your disk array. HP representatives will
guide and assist you through the site preparation.

Site preparation team

The site preparation team plans, schedules, and completes all tasks necessary to prepare your site
for successful system installation.
The team consists of HP representatives and you, the customer.

HP representative responsibilities

The HP team includes various representatives who have the training, knowledge, experience, tools,
and parts required to install and maintain XP disk arrays. This team is responsible for:
• Helping you determine and implement the site requirements for your site and array configuration
• Coordinating all HP resources to ensure successful delivery and installation of the disk array
The HP Sales Representative is your primary contact with HP during site preparation. An HP Customer
Engineer assists with disk array installation and maintenance, and an HP Application Software Engineer
assists with disk array software installation and configuration.

Customer responsibilities

As part of the site preparation team, your responsibilities include planning and preparing a suitable
environment for the disk array and scheduling equipment delivery and installation. HP representatives
can help. Your internal team may include specialists in the site computer facilities, a storage
administrator, and a site electrician.
