Procedure 23 To transfer operations to the main site
1.
At the local site, bring up the host server(s). Make sure that Continuous Access Synchronous
Z components are operational.
2.
At the local site, release all Continuous Access Synchronous Z pairs on the main system.
Use the Deleting Mode All option to release all Continuous Access Synchronous Z pairs in
each CU. Make sure to connect with all MCUs and all CUs to release all Continuous Access
Synchronous Z pairs.
3.
At the local site, delete the Continuous Access Synchronous Z association with the remote
systems (Delete RCU). In Remote Web Console, connect to each main system and each CU
to make sure that all RCUs are deleted.
4.
At the local and remote sites, change path and port settings.
- If you plan to use the same data paths:
At the local site, change the existing initiator ports to RCU target ports.
If system option mode 1 14 is enabled on all MCUs and RCUs, the ports will reconfigure
automatically if you use the CESTPATH command to add the pairs at the remote site. For
Fibre Channel interface, do not use the CESTPATH and CDELPATH commands at the
same time as the SCSI path definition function of LUN Manager. The Fibre Channel
interface ports need to be configured as initiator ports or RCU target ports before the
CESTPATH and CDELPATH commands are issued.
At the remote site, change the existing RCU target ports to initiator ports.
If system option mode 1 14 is enabled on all MCUs and RCUs, the ports will reconfigure
automatically if you use the TSO CESTPATH command to add the pairs at the remote site.
For Fibre Channel interface, do not use the CESTPATH and CDELPATH commands at the
same time as the SCSI path definition function of LUN Manager. The Fibre Channel
interface ports need to be configured as initiator ports or RCU target ports before the
CESTPATH and CDELPATH commands are issued.
5.
At the remote site, perform Continuous Access Synchronous Z configuration procedures, setting
up the Continuous Access Synchronous Z system with the remote site as the main system, and
the local site as the remote system.
6.
At the remote system create the Continuous Access Synchronous Z pairs, with the R-VOLs at
the local site. Make sure to use the Entire Volume initial copy option. Confirm that the pairs
are created and that status is Duplex.
7.
At the remote system, halt host operations and vary the M-VOL offline. This maintains
synchronization of the pairs.
8.
At the remote site, suspends the pairs. Confirm that the pairs are suspended and status is
Suspended - R-VOL by operator before proceeding. If an error occurs, resolve it before
proceeding.
9.
At the remote system, release the pairs. You do not need to use the Delete Pair by Force option.
10. At the main and remote system, change the path and port settings.
- If you plan to use the same data paths:
At the local site, change the existing RCU target ports to initiator ports.
At the remote site, change the existing initiator ports to RCU target ports.
1 1. At the main site, perform configuration tasks in preparation for creating the pairs.
12. At the main site, establish consistency groups and create the Continuous Access Synchronous
Z pairs in the original direction. You may use the "none" initial copy option because all
M-VOLs and R-VOLs are synchronized. If there is any possibility that the volumes are not 100%
synchronized, use the Entire Volume initial copy option to be safe.
13. Vary the main system and M-VOLs online, and start the host operations.
