NOTE:
Templates 1 and 4 are for installations that connect to two sub-nets; physical port
connections are required for both the 1GbE management and the 10GbE data networks. Templates
2 and 3 are to a single network and, therefore, do not require separate physical port connections
for access to the B6000 Management Console.
All data path IP addresses must be contiguous. On Templates 1 and 4, the management physical
IP addresses must be contiguous, and the management virtual IP address should be on the same
sub-net as the management physical ports.

Physical Ethernet connection requirements

Please be aware of the following when preparing the network environment.
All network ports are bonded to ensure high availability in the event of failover. However,
incorrect cabling can cancel out the high availability infrastructure of the product.
There should be two switches for each network to which you are connecting.
For EACH bonded pair of cables, the first cable should be connected to Switch 1; the other
cable should be connected to Switch 2.
When using a 10GbE network, you must provide the correct SFPs for your environment. They
are not supplied with the product.

NOTE:
When using the 10GbE network, Templates 1 or 3, no SFPs are provided as part of the
standard installation. It is the responsibility of the customer to purchase these separately, having
decided whether to use copper or fibre connection.

Number of physical ports for each template

The number of physical connections that are required varies depending upon the template selected
and the number of couplets in the system. This number should be confused with the number of IP
addresses required.
SFPs for the two ports that connect to the external 10GbE network are not installed.
They must be purchased separately. Two are required for each node.
