Beforeperforminganytype of maintenance on the machine,wait for
all parts to stop movingand disconnectthe sparkplug wire. Failure
I to followthis instructioncould resultin personalinjuryor property
[damage.
DRIVE CONTROL
CABLE
ADJUSTMENT
Adjustthe drivecontrolcableif the yardvacuumdoesnot self propel
with thedrive controlengaged,or if theunit hesitateswhilethe engine
maintainsthe same speedafter approximately 20 hoursof use.
Tomovethe z-fittingof the drivecontrolcablefrom its factoryset
positionin the front hole of the drivecontrolto the rear hole,proceed
as follows:
1.
Pushthe rightside of thecontrolout of the righthole in the upper
handle.See Figure18A.
2.
Pivotcontroldowntowardsthe lowerhandle.
3.
Pivotstraightup to removeit from the left hole in the upper
handle.See Figure18A.
4.
Thereis nowsufficientslack in the drivecontrolcableto graspthe
z-fittingwith yourhandand moveit from the front holeto the rear
hole of the drivecontrol.See Figure18B.
IMPORTANT:Makesureto insertthe z-fittinginto the rearhole as
it was insertedin thefront hole,that is from the outside of the drive
control.
5.
You maynowcarefullyreinstallthe drivecontrolby performingthe
previousstepsin the oppositeorder and mannerof removal.
IMPORTANT: O nceassembledand priorto restarting,makesurethat
thecable is properlyadjusted.With thedrive controldisengaged, t he
unit shouldfreely pull in reverse.
REMOVING
THE FLAIL SCREEN
If the dischargearea becomesclogged, removetheflail screenand
cleanarea as follows:
1.
Stopthe engine.Makecertain the chipper/shredder v acuumhas
cometo a completestop.
2.
Beforeuncloggingthe dischargechute,disconnect and ground
the spark plugwire to retaining post.
3.
Removethe vacuumbagor blowerchute fromthe unitas
instructedin the OPERATION sectionto obtainaccessto flail
screen.
4.
Removethe three self tappingscrewssecuringthebelt cover,and
removebeltcover.See Figure19.
