Audio Selection

Some VIDEO CDs and Audio CDs are recorded using two separate
channels named "L" (left) and "R" (right). The following are two
examples of how two-channel audio is used.
• Example 1: English on the L-channel and French or some other
language on the R-channel.
• Example 2: The left side of an orchestra on the L-channel and the
right side on the R-channel.
Your Player lets you select one of three audio playback types when
playing such a disc: L-channel only, R-channel only, L+R (both)
channels.
1
While a disc is playing, press AUDIO to show the current
playback type.
2
Press ' or " (or AUDIO) to change the type of Audio playback.
• The Audio playback changes as follows:
L+R
L
If no button is pressed within 10
seconds, the indicator goes off.
L+R
• This function can only be used for discs on which the sound has been
recorded in multiple formats.
• To play back VIDEO CDs recorded with DTS format, audio mode
should be set to "L+R". The Digital Out signal cannot be output
correctly if audio mode is set to "L" or "R".
