VCD (Video CD) and CD (Audio CD) Playback

Preparations
To prepare for playing DVD discs, perform steps 1 to 4 in "Basic Play" (page 22).
Playing Video CDs with Playback Control (PBC)
Pressing û PLAY begins PBC playback. No time display is shown.
If you specify the track number to be played (with playback stopped) and press the û PLAY button,
normal playback (not PBC playback) begins.

Discs can also be played in Fast Forward and Fast Reverse modes.

Slow-motion playback does not function for video or audio CDs.
Frame Advance Picture playback is disabled on the VCDs (Video CD).
The image quality of video CDs is equivalent to that of video tape played on a VCR.

paused (STILL/PAUSE), normal playback resumes.
