• Press button located on the under-
aide of the upper handle and extend
handle to a comfortable position.

LOosenwing nut or knob on han-
die.
2. Rotate tl_e handle on the tube to
an upright position; place in a
oormortable position and retighten
wing nut.
ATTACHING THE SHIELD
_, WARNING:
The shield must be
properly installed. The shield provides
partial protection from the risk of
thrown objects to the operator and
others. Your unit is equipped with a
line limlter blade, which cuts excess
line to the proper length while running.
The line ,miter blade (on underside of
shield) is sharp and can cut you.
NOTE: If shield is not propedy
installed, damage to unit (including
motor failure) wilt result.
1. Alignthe installation arrow onthe
shieldwiththe installation arrowon
the motorhousing (see illustration
below).
2. Inserttheshieldontothe motor
housing.Ensurecuttinglinere-
mainsfree to rotateand is not
caughtbetweenthe shieldand the
motorhousing.
3. Twisttheshield as illustrated until
itsnapssecurelyintoplace. Make
surethe shieldisfacingthe back
of the unitas shownon the front
coverof this manual,
