Setting into operation
It is imperative that you observe the instructions given
in this chapter before setting the instrument into opera-
tion.
Here you will be informed about the necessary prepara-
tions before startig the instrument for the first time in
order to avoid any damages or wrong measurement
results.

3.1 Positioning the USN 52R/
USN 52L
Refer to Chapter 9 concerning the permitted ambient
conditions, such as temperature and humidity. Position
the instrument on a smooth surface so that the display
can be easily read.
If the instrument is taken from a cold area into a warm
area, you should wait until it has adjusted to the tem-
perature before switching on (avoids condensation).

3.2 Power supply

There must be sufficient power in order to guarantee
operation.
The instrument can be operated with batteries or on
mains power via a special instrument charger.
