5.1 Overview

This chapter contains all adjustments procedures for Stylus Color 900.

5.1.1 Conditions for Each Adjustment

This section includes each adjustment which is required after repairing
or replacing specific parts used in the Stylus Color 900. Some of the
adjustments have the specified order to perform, depending on the
contents of the adjustment. Therefore, observe the points shown under
the heading "CAUTION" in the right column well and perform the
adjustments properly in the correct order, referring to Table 5-1 - Table
5-3.
Adjustment

When adjusting the printer, be sure to refer to Table
5-1 to check for all the necessary adjustment items
and perform them in the correct order. Failure to do
so may directly affect to print quality adversely.

In this printer, the head angle adjustment can be done
without removing the upper case. However, since the
head fixing plated is installed with two screws,
observe the instruction in this manual to perform the
adjustment properly.

The C language used in the service program only
applies to the PCs which run DOS/V. Therefore, be
sure to run DOS/V to use the service program, since If
other types of PCs such as 98-series or the one which
does not support bidirectional communication
system are used, the program does not run properly
and adjustments can not be made.

When performing Initial Ink Charge forcibly, be sure
to have a new ink cartridge ready.

Before clearing the waste ink pad counters using the
service program, make sure the waste ink pads have
been replaced in advance. Lack of this operation may
cause the ink to leak from the lower case.
