Tip
Pressing the (Q)/TV/SAT button also lets you select "SRS
WOW" and "Off."
Using the 16:9
Enhanced Feature
The 16:9 Enhanced feature provides enhanced
picture resolution, which allows you to watch
widescreen pictures that have been stretched in the
vertical direction, such as certain DVD titles, at their
original 16:9 aspect ratio.
Note
The 16:9 Enhanced feature is available only when the TV is set
to Video 1, Video 2 or Video 3, which you can do by pressing
the TV/VIDEO button (See page 28).
Tip
The "aspect ratio" is the ratio of width to height of the screen.
16:9 is also referred to as widescreen format.
Original Picture
• Wide screen video camera or
DVD picture
• DTV 16:9 aspect ratio picture
16:9 Enhanced Picture
Compressed vertically and
displayed on the screen at
its original 16:9 aspect
ratio.
However, black bands
appear at the top and
bottom of the picture.
