Remote Control Of The Cable Converter - Sylvania 2870LV Owner's Manual

If you have a cable converter, you will probably want to
program your VCR's remote control so you can easily
change channels. The process is the same as for pro-
gramming the remote to operate your TV.
PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE CON-
TROL TO OPERATE YOUR CABLE CON-
VERTER
Make sure ,..
• Turn on the cable converter (any channel is OK).
1) Press the VOLUME • button on the remote control.
2) Press the CABLE button on the remote control.
3) Press the number corresponding to the brand of your
cable converter as shown in the chart below. Then
press the ENTER button.
For example; If you have a HAMLIN cable con-
verter, press 0, then the 6 button. Then, press the EN-
TER button.

4) Aim the remote control at your cable converter, then
press the CHANNEL • button. If the channel
changes on the cable converter, you are finished.
NOTE:
• If the cable converter channel still doesn't change
after going through all the cable converter brand
codes listed above, it is likely that you will not be able
to program this remote control for your cable con-
verter.
There is no guarantee that the VCR remote
control will handle your cable converter per-
fectly.
Once you have programmed the remote con-
trol, you will have to do it again whenever you
change the batteries.
CONTROLLING THE CABLE CON-
VERTER
1 Selectthe CABLEfunctionmode
Press the CABLE button. Then press a button for the
CABLE function that you want.
(Example: press the CABLE button then the CHAN-
NEL • button, the next higher station will appear.)
Note: Also, you may change the channels at the cable
converter by using the number buttons. If you can not
change the channels at the cable converter by using the
number buttons, press the ENTER button after you press
the number buttons. It may change channels at the cable

Return to the VCR function mode
Pressthe VCR button to operate yourVCR with the re-
mote control again.
