Zooming in Closely on Subjects (Digital Zoom}

The focal length of the lens can be increased by an equivalent of 1.7x or
2.1x_ This enables a faster shutter speed and less chance of camera shake
than the zoom (including digita! zoom) used by itself at the same zoom
factor.
The images may appear coarse, however, depending on the combination of
recording pixel (p. 73) and digital teleoconverter settings used.
Choose [Digital Zoom].
Touch FLJNC., then touch
MENU.
Touch the _ tab=
Drag vertically up or down the screen to
choose [Digital Zoom].
Accept the setting.
.......... Touch _ _ to choose a zoom factor.
Touching =_Drestores the settings screen.
The view will be enlarged and the zoom
factor will appear on the screen.
To return to standard digital zoom, choose
[Digita_ Zoom] and the [Standard] option.
Using [1.7x] at a recording pixel setting of L or M1 will cause image
deterioration (the zoom factor will appear in blue).
Using [2.1x] at a recording pixet setting of L , M1 or M2 witl cause image
deterioration (the zoom factor wilt appear in blue).
