Assembly Of The Right Side Template Support To The Dovetail Base - Sears Craftsman 171.25450 Owner's Manual

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Thefollowing toolsare required for assembly:
1) A mediumsizedPhillips screwdriver,
2) A smallor mediumsizedadjustable wrench.
ASSEMBLY OFTHERIGHTSIDETEMPLATE SUPPORT TO THEDOVETAIL BASE
1). Place the dovetailbase topsidedownon a flat surface.
2) insertoneof the5/16-18x 2" long roundheadsquareneckbolts into thes!ot in the rightsideof thebase.(NOTE: Therightsideof the
baseis identifiedbythewords RIGHT SIDEmoldedinto it.)
3) Placea 11/32"I.D_x 7/8"O.D.washerontothe bolt asshownin Figure1,
4) Threada 5/16-18hexnut ontothe bolt, asshown,until it bottomsout against t he washer,
5) Backoff the nutfrom the washerbetween 1/4 and 1/2turns. Nigh the nut sothat thecornersof the nutareverticallYlineduPasshown.
Notethe alignment o f the hexpocketinthetemplatesupport.Thebolt shouldbe freeto movesideto side; if it doesnot, loosenthenut 1/3
turn or untilthe cornersof thenut pointup anddown.
8) Assemble theright template supportto theright side of thedovetailbaseso thatthe hexoutlinesup andf ts into thehexpocketin the
right templatesupport,(NOTE: Therighttemplatesupporthasthewords RIGHT SIDE moldedinto it for identification.)
7) Assemble a #10-32x 5/8°tongpanhead machinescrew,a 13/64"!.D.x 9/16"O.D.washer,anda #10"32hexnutt° thebaseassh°wn t°
hold thetemplatesupportin place.Securely tightenthe nut and screw_
8) Thetemplatesupportshouldmovefreelyfront to backalongthe sideof the base,If it doesnot, it means that the 5/16-18hexnut is too
tight on thebolt andshouldbeloosened. T odo this, removethefastenersassembled in step T, andremovethetemplatesupport;repeatsteps
4 through7.
• ASSEMBLE THE LEFT SIDE TEMPLATE SUPPORT TO THE DOVETAIL BASETHE SAME AS THE RIGHT SIDE
TEMPLATE SUPPORT WAS ASSEMBLED
