The STOP switchis usedto stop the
engine.Press and hold theswitchto
stopthe unit.
PRIMER BULB
The primer bulbremovesair from the
fuel linesand fills themwithfuel. This
allowsyouto startthe enginewith few-
er pullson the starterrope, Activate
the primerbulbby pressingit and
allowing itto return to itsoriginalform.
CHOKE
The chokehelpsto supplyfuel to the
carburetor during starting.Thisallows
you to starta coldengine.Activate the
chokeby moving the chokeleverto
the Fullposition. A fter the enginehas
started,movethe choketo the Off
position.
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE
WARNING: Be sure to read the fuel
information in the safety rules before
you begin. If you do not understand
the safety rules, do not attempt to fuel
your unit. Call 1-800-235-5878.
FUELING ENGINE
Thisengine is certified to operateon
unIeadedgasoline. B eforeoperation,
gasolinemustbe mixedwitha good
quality 2-cycleair-cooled engineoil.
We recommend Craftsmanbrand oil.
Mix gasolineand oil at a ratioof 40:1
(A 40:1 ratiois obtainedby mixing3.2
ouncesof oilwith 1 gallonof unleaded
gasoline). D ONOTUSEautomotive oil
or boat oi!.These oilswillcause
enginedamage. When mixingfuel,
follow instructions printedon container.
Once oilis addedto gasoline,shake
containermomentarily to assure that
the fuel is thoroughly mixed.Always
read and follow the safetyrules
relatingto fuel beforefueling yourunit.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicates that alcohol
blendedfuels (calledgasoholor using
ethanolor methanol) can attractmois-
ture whichleadsto separationand
formation of acidsduringstorage.
Acidicgascan damage thefuel sys-
tem of an enginewhilein storage.
To avoidengineproblems,emptythe
fuelsystembeforestoragefor 30 days
