GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
The warrantyonthis edger/trimmerdoes not cover items
that have been subjected to operator abuse or negli-
gence. To receive full value from the warranty, the
operator mustmaintain the edger/trimmeras instructed
inthismanual. The followingMaintenance Check LISt is
supplied to assist the operator properly maintain the
edger/trimmer.
LUBRICATION
EDGER/TRIMMER
•
Applylight machineoil after each 25 hours of use to
all movingparts, particularlythe wheels.
ENGINE
•
The oil in the crankcase must be changed alter the
first2 hoursof operation anclafter each 25 hours of
use therealter.
NOTE: If the edger/trimmer Is being used In sandy or
dusty areas, change the oll more frequently to pre-
vent premature engine wear.

OIL RECOMMENDATIONS
Only use highquality detergent oil rated with API service
classificationSG. Select the oil's SAE viscositygrade
accordingto your expected operatingtemperature:
NOTE: Althoughmulti-viscosity oils(5W30, 10W30, etc.)
improvestartingin coldweather, these multi-viscosity oils
will resultin increasedoil consumption when used above
32°F. Checkyourengine oillevel morofrequentlyto avoid
pessPoleengine damage from runninglow on oil.
TO CHANGE ENGINE OIL
•
Disconnectthe spark plug wire from the spark plug.
•
Remove the oildrain plug(See Fig. 10) and drain the
oil into a flat pan.
•
After draining all the oil, reinstall the oil drain plug
securely.
NOTE: The oil will drain more freely when the engine is
warm.
