La Ley de Agua Potable Inocua y Tratamiento de ResiduosT6xicos de California (CaliforniaSafe Drinking Water and
Toxic Enforcement Act) solicita al Gobernador de California que publique una lista de sustancias que el estado reconoce
que producen cbncer, defectos de nacimiento u otros da_os reproductivos y solicita a los empresarios que adviertan a
sus clientes sabre la posible exposici6n a tales sustancias.
Gas appliances can cause minor exposure to four of these substances, namely benzene, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde
and soot, caused primarily by the incomplete combustion of natural gas or LP fuels. Properly adjusted burners, indicated
by a bluish rather than a yellow flame, will minimize incomplete combustion. Exposure to these substances can be
minimized by venting with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood.
