When the audio l evel meter reaches the red point (0 dBmark), the
sound may b edistorted.
Ifthe audio level istoo high a nd the sound gets d istorted, activate the
microphone attenuator ([:_3 143).
We recommend using headphones (LTj 81) t ocheck the sound level
while a djusting the audio recording level orwhen the microphone atten-
uator isactivated.
This f unction can also b eassigned tothe custom k ey/dial (CZ] 85). In
that c ase, the audio l evel adjustment bar a ppears inwhite.
Using Headphones
Use headphones forplayback ortocheck the audio l evel while r ecord-
ing. T he headphones are connected tothe AV OUT/O terminal, which
isused f orboth the headphones and the audio/video output. Before
connecting the headphones, follow t he procedure below t ochange the
function ofthe terminal from AV output toO(headphones) output.
* Headphones can be used also in mode but the function of the terminal can-
not be changed in that mode.
