TO STOP ENGINE
1.
If operatingthe enginein the snowor rain,run the enginefor a
few minutesto help dry off any moisture.
2.
Movethe throttlecontrolleverto the STOP_
position.
3.
Movethe enginechokeback and forth severaltimesand leavein
the CHOKEIJl
position.
4.
Be surethe FuelShut-OffValveis off.
5.
Disconnectspark plug wireand groundit to preventaccidental
startingwhiletheequipmentis unattended.
USING THE LOG SPLITTER
NOTE: Readthe Operationsectionin the SafePracticessectionat the
beginningof this manualbeforeoperating.

Placethe log splitteron flat,dry, solidground.
2.
Blockthe front and back of bothwheels.See Figure12.

Placethe beamin eitherthe horizontalor verticalpositionand
lock it intoplace.
Blockthe front and back of bothwheels.
5.
Placethe log againstthe end plateand only splitwood alongthe
grain (lengthwise).
6.
To stabilizethe log,placeyourleft handon the sideof the log.
Neverplacea hand betweenthe log andthe splittingwedgeor
the log and end plate.
Onlyone operatoris permitted. T he adultwho loadsand stabilizes
the log mustbe thepersonwhooperatesthecontrol handle.

Movethecontrol handleto the FORWARD positionto split wood.
2.
Removeyourleft handfrom the sideof the log oncewedgejust
contactsthelog. Continuemovingcontrol handleforwardto split
the wood.
3.
Releasethe controlhandleto stop the wedgemovement.
4.
Movethecontrol handleto the REVERSE positionto returnthe
wedge.
Log Dislodger
The log dislodgeris designedto removeany partiallysplitwoodfrom
the wedge.This mayoccur whilesplittinglargediameterwoodor
freshlycut wood.
Neverremovepartiallysplit woodfromthe wedgewith yourhands.
Fingersmay becometrappedbetweenthe split wood.
1.
Tofree the wedgefrom a partiallysplit pieceof wood, placethe
control handlein the REVERSEposition.As it movesback,the
split wood portionwill contactthe log dislodgerand become
detachedfromthe wedge.
2.
Once removedfromthe wedgewith the log dislodger,split the
woodfrom the oppositeend or in anotherlocation.
