"Maximum Transmission Unit"
Enter the maximum transmission unit size to be sent
at one time. There is normally no need to change this
from 1500.
If you are using ADSL, you may experience increased
data transmission efficiency if you slightly lower the
value of the setting. When you are using Ethernet,
maintain the value at 1500.

Note
41
● When directly connecting the VB150 to an ADSL modem, the connection
method needs to be PPPoE (e.g. FLETs ADSL).
● For the packet target address in the connection keeping function, we
recommend that you consider the impact on traffic conditions and set the
IP address that is nearest after the auto dial-up router.
Click the [OK] button to change the settings. To discard the changes, click the
[Cancel] button. This returns you to the settings title page.
PPPoE
"Use PPPoE"
Tick this check box if you connect using
PPPoE (e.g. FLETs ADSL). Once ticked,
specify the settings in "User Name",
"Password" and "Service Name" specified
by your provider.
Static Route Control
Route
settings
are
required
communicating with a wide-area network
through a router. When using Ethernet or
wireless LAN together with PPP, set the
route as needed.
"Default Route"
Specify the route that would normally be
used. A gateway address is required if a
router on the Ethernet or the wireless LAN
side is used.
"Route 1-3"
Use this setting if you require connection
routes other than the normal route. You
can select from Ethernet, wireless LAN,
PPP and PPPoE as the interface. Specify
the destination route in the Destination
and Mask fields. You must specify a
gateway address if you are using a router
on an Ethernet or wireless LAN network.
Connection Keeping
When this is selected, an ICMP Echo
packet is transmitted periodically to a
specified address in order to maintain the
network connection.
"Send packet regularly"
Tick this check box to enable this function.
"Target Address"
Specify where the packet should be sent.
"Interval (min.)"
In minutes from 1 to 60, specify the
interval at which packet should be sent.
