IDE Primary These four IDE PIO (Programmed
Master PIO Input/Output) fields let you set the
IDE Primary PIO mode for each of the four IDE
Slave PIO devices supported by the onboard
IDE Secondary IDE interface. The PIO mode speci-
Master PIO fies the data transfer rate of the
IDE Secondary hard disk. For example: mode 0
Slave PIO data transfer rate is 3.3 MB/s,
mode 1 is 5.2 MB/s, mode 2 is 8.3
MB/s, mode 3 is 11.1 MB/s and
mode 4 is 16.6 MB/s.
Setting these items to Auto acti-
vates the hard disk speed auto-
detect function. If your hard disk
performance becomes unstable,
you may manually set the system
to a slower mode.
Caution: It is recommended that
you connect the first IDE device of
each channel to the endmost con-
nector of the IDE cable.
IDE Primary These four UDMA (Ultra Direct
Master UDMA Memory Access) fields let you set
IDE Primary the UDMA mode supported by the
Slave UDMA hard disk connected to your pri-

USB Mouse Enables or disables the USB mouse

Init Display If you installed both a PCI VGA
First card and an AGP card, this item
lets you decide which one is to be
used as the initial display card.
