When you have finished making adjustments,
start sewing.
• For details, refer to "Starting to sew"
(page 29).

● For details on selecting character stitches,
refer to "Selecting characters" (page 64).
CAUTION
● After adjusting the stitch width, slowly turn
the handwheel toward you
(counterclockwise) and check that the needle
does not touch the presser foot. If the needle
hits the presser foot, the needle may bend or
break.
● If the stitches are bunched together, increase
the stitch length. Continuing to sew with the
stitches bunched together may cause the
needle to bend or break.

Raise the needle by turning the handwheel
toward you (counterclockwise) so that the mark
on the wheel points up. (With models equipped
