12-7. Adjusting the needle bar height

When the needle bar q is at its lowest position, the dis-
tance from the top of the auxiliary needle plate w to the
bottom edge of the needle bar q should be the same as
the height of accessory timing gauge 1 e.
1. Remove the presser foot r, needle plate t, auxiliary
needle plate w, feed dog y and spacer u (B856E only).
2. Place the auxiliary needle plate w on the needle plate
installation surface of the machine bed.
3. Turn the machine pulley to move the needle bar q to
its lowest position.
4. Loosen the screw i.
5. Move the needle bar q up or down to adjust the dis-
tance from the top of the auxiliary needle plate w to
the bottom edge of the needle bar q so that it is the
same as the height of accessory timing gauge 1 e.
Note:
The needle plate t and the auxiliary needle plate
w are of different thicknesses, so be sure to use the
auxiliary needle plate w.
6. Securely tighten the screw i.
7. Install the presser foot r, needle plate t, auxiliary
needle plate w, feed dog y and spacer u (B856E only).
* When adjusting the needle bar height, be sure to ad-
just the needle and rotary hook timing also. (Refer to
page 145.)
Wenn sich die Nadelstange q in der tiefsten Position
befindet, muß der Abstand von der Oberseite der
Hilfsstichplatte w zur unteren Kante der Nadelstange q
der Höhe der Lehre 1 e aus dem Zubehör entsprechen.
1. Entfernen Sie den Stoffdrückerfuß r, die Stichplatte
t, die Hilfsstichplatte w, den Transporteur y und die
Abstandshalter u (nur B856E).
2. Setzen Sie die Hilfstichplatte w auf die Einbaufläche
des Maschinenbetts.
3. Drehen Sie die Riemenscheibe, um die Nadelstange
q in die tiefste Position zu stellen.
4. Lösen Sie die Schraube i.
5. Stellen Sie die Höhe der Nadelstange q so ein, daß
der Abstand zwischen der Oberseite der Hilfsstichplatte
w und der unteren Kante der Nadelstange q der Höhe
der Lehre 1 e aus dem Zubehör entspricht.
Hinweis:
Die Dicke der Stichplatte t und der Hilfsstichplatte
w sind nicht gleich, Verwenden Sie deshalb
unbedingt die Hilfsstichplatte w.
6. Ziehen Sie die Schraube i wieder fest.
7. Bringen Sie den Stoffdrückerfuß r, die Stichplatte t,
die Hilfsstichplatte w, den Transporteur y und den
Abstandshalter u wieder an (nur B856E).
* Beim Einstellen der Nadelstangenhöhe muß die
Synchronisation zwischen Nadel und Greifer ebenfalls
eingestellt werden. (Siehe Seite 146.)
