f Remove the hook by grasping its center post
and pulling it out.

Use a brush to remove any accumulated lint

and thread from the retaining ring, hook,
driver and race body.

h Use a cloth dampened with machine oil to
wipe the shuttle race in order to remove any
lint.
i Clean the lint from the shuttle hook in the
same manner as described in step
j Reassemble the hook and the retaining ring,
and push the latch levers back into position.

k Attach the bobbin case, the presser foot and
the needle before using the machine.

Cleaning the feed dogs

CAUTION
● Make sure you unplug the machine before
you clean it. Otherwise, you may get an
electric shock or be injured.
a Turn off the machine and unplug it.
b Raise the needle and the presser foot, and
then remove the presser foot and the needle.
c Remove the flat bed attachment and open the
shuttle cover at the front of the free arm.
d Remove the needle plate by using a coin or
screwdriver to remove the screws.
e Use a brush to clean the lint from the upper
part of the feed dogs and shuttle race body.

f Attach the needle plate by using a coin or
screwdriver.
