Use darning stitches for mending and other applications.

Darning is sewn from the front of the presser foot to the back, as shown below.

Select a stitch pattern.

Set the scale on buttonhole foot "A" to the
desired length of the darning, and then attach
the buttonhole foot.
Memo
The maximum length for darning is 28 mm (approx. 1-
1/16 inches).

Hold the outside frame of the buttonhole foot
toward the back with your finger, and then
lower the presser foot so that it aligns with
the area to be darned.
Note
• Slide the outside frame of the buttonhole foot
backward as far as possible, making sure that there
is no gap behind the part of the foot marked "A", as
shown in the illustration. If the buttonhole foot is not
slid back as far as possible, the darning will not be
sewn at the correct size.
• Pass the thread under the presser foot.
