Chapter 3
There are eight toolbar icons representing eight of the most useful
functions available in FCArray Assistant Client. The identity of each
toolbar icon and an explanation of the purpose of each will be described in
later sections of this chapter.
Item #3 - The FCArray Assistant Client server selection box
When selected, the box displays the names of each server group that is in
contact with the current client workstation. Each group may consist of
multiple servers. You may select a specific server group to view, or select
"All Servers" if you want to view all the servers that are connected to this
workstation.
Item #4 - The FCArray Assistant Client controller selection box
The box displays the controller ID (C-0, C-1, etc.), when selected, and the
controller type, (FCArray, etc.) of each RAID Controller connected to the
currently selected server (see below). For dual active controllers, a
double-pointed white arrow connects the controller pair selections.

Components of the Global Status View Window

The major components of the Global Status View window are described below
(see Figure 3-1):
Item #5 - This icon represents a currently unselected file server running the
FCArray Assistant Server software.
This icon provides the same information as that described for the currently
selected file server, listed below.
Item #6 - This icon represents the currently selected file server running the
FCArray Assistant Server component.
The icon identifies:
The IP address (for example, 192.9.10.55) or name of the server
The network operating system running on the server (for example,
NT = Windows NT)
The operational status of the server (green = functioning,
yellow = critical, red 'X' = down or nonfunctional)
The number of RAID Controllers connected on the server, with a
controller operational status light (green = functioning,
yellow = critical, red 'X' = down or nonfunctional)
