Removing a PCI card

To remove a PCI card:
1.
Disconnect power from the system (see

Remove the side access panel (see

Remove the PCI card support bracket, if installed (see
4.
Remove auxiliary power or connector cables attached to the PCI card to be removed.
5.
Open the PCI card retention clamp, press the retention clamp levers down to unsnap, and then
rotate them up (1), as shown:

Pull the PCI card up and out of the chassis (2). Store the card in an anti static bag.
CAUTION:
before replacing or reinstalling a removed PCI card, install a blank PCI slot cover in its place to
maintain workstation chassis air flow integrity, then close the PCI retention clamp.
If the PCI retention clamp levers do not readily close, verify that all cards are properly seated, and
then try again. Remember to reinstall the workstation side access panel (see
