Message Settings

Configure settings for messages.
1. From the Home screen, touch
Messaging.
2. Touch Menu
• Message font size: Set a size for message text.
• Split view: When enabled, messages display
with the message conversation on the left and
message text on the right, when the phone is in
landscape mode.
• Delete old messages: When enabled, old
messages are deleted automatically when the
maximum number of messages is reached.
• Text message limit: Choose the maximum
number of messages to keep, per conversation.
• Multimedia message limit: Choose the
maximum number of messages to keep, per
conversation.
• Emergency Alerts: This device is designed to
receive Wireless Emergency Alerts from the
Commercial Mobile Alert Service (CMAS),
including Presidential Alerts, Imminent Alerts
(Severe or Extreme), AMBER Alerts (missing
persons), and Emergency Alert Test Messages.

Emergency Alerts: Choose whether your
phone will receive or stop Emergency Alerts.

Presidential Alerts: (not configurable, you
cannot choose not to receive Presidential Alerts).

Extreme Alerts: Enable or disable Extreme
Alerts.

Severe Alerts: Enable or disable Severe Alerts.

Amber Alerts: Enable or disable Amber Alerts.

Emergency Alerts Test Messages: Enable or
disable Test Alerts.

Emergency notification preview: Listen to an
example of a Emergency Alert tone (and
vibration, if enabled). The Emergency Alert tone
plays at the same volume as your call ringtone.

Alert reminder: Choose whether, and at what
interval, your phone plays a sound to notify you
of an Emergency Alert after the Emergency Alert
tone has stopped.

Vibrate: Set vibration for Emergency Alerts.

Font Size: Choose the size for message text.
• Auto-retrieve: When enabled, your phone
automatically downloads the contents of
multimedia messages when you open them.
• Notifications: When enabled, message
notifications display in the Status bar.
• Select ringtone: Choose a ringtone for message
notifications.
• Vibrate: When enabled, the phone vibrates for
new message notifications.
