Troubleshooting Information
Table E-4: Is the Auxiliary Power LED Indicator On?
Refer to "Auxiliary Power LED Indicator" in Appendix D for the location of this LED.
IMPORTANT: The auxiliary power LED is located on the I/O board under the system fans. To
check the auxiliary power LED, the server should be placed in Standby mode with the power
supplies plugged in and the fans removed.
Answer
No
E-10
Possible Reasons
The system is not connected to AC
power, or no AC power is available.
The auxiliary power LED may be
burned out and need to be
replaced.
A power supply problem exists. The
power supply may not be
connected or inserted properly,
may have a damaged connector, or
may have failed.
The power supply backplane may
need to be replaced.
The Next Step
Auxiliary power is the power source for
the system interconnect LEDs. If that
power source does not exist, the system
interconnect LEDs do not light to
indicate system interconnect problems.
This is also a signal that there is a
problem other than the system
interconnect preventing the power
supply from turning on.
Check your power source to verify
an adequate supply of AC power.
Remove the power supply, and
check for a damaged connector. If
the connector looks okay, reinsert
the power supply firmly and
correctly.
Check for bent pins on all power
cables.
Verify the proper connection of all
power cables.
Refer to the HP Servers
Troubleshooting Guide for further
options.
