Glossary
generic port
Also known as G_Port. Physical interface on a Director that can function either as a fabric port
(F_Port) or an extension port (E_Port) depending on the port type to which it connects.
G_Port
See generic port.
G_Port module (GPM) card
Also known as GPM card. Port card that implements four G_Ports and provides the physical
connection point for links to Fibre Channel devices.
HAFM Management Services
Software application that provides back-end product-independent services to the High
Availability Fabric Manager application. HAFM Management Services runs only on the
HAFM server (and cannot be downloaded to remote workstations).
HAFM server
PC shipped with a product to run the High Availability Fabric Manager, Product Manager,
and SDC Fabric Manager applications.

Software application that is the system management framework providing the user interface
for managing HP Fibre Channel connectivity products. The High Availability Fabric Manager
can run both locally on the HAFM server and remotely on a user workstation.
