Basic Procedure

If a malfunction or incorrect print is appeared, make an initial check, then follow the
basic procedure below:
(1) Check the status display. If any message is shown, see Section 4 for
troubleshooting.
(2) If an incorrect image is found, see Section 3.1 to determine the defect type and
Section 3.2 for image troubleshooting.

TEST PRINTING AND MECHANICAL CHECK

2.1

Test Printing

If an image problem occurs, follow the procedure below to produce a test print.
1) Enter the offline mode.
2) Press the SHIFT and TEST switches simultaneously, so the printer enters the
test print mode.
3) Press the
SET switch.
The message "05 TEST PRINT" will appear on the status display of the control panel
and the DATA lamp will come on. Then, the printer will produce the test print.
4) Determine the image trouble type and see Section 3 for troubleshooting.
