The Apple Watch Series 11 brings exciting utility tools right to your wrist, including the Compass, Waypoints, and Backtrack features. These tools are perfect for outdoor adventures, providing real-time guidance and ensuring you never lose your way. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps of accessing and utilizing these features with ease, even if you're new to smartwatches.
To begin, wake up your Apple Watch Series 11 by tapping the screen or pressing the side button. Then, press the Digital Crown, which is the round button on the side of your watch, to navigate to your app library. Once there, use the Digital Crown to scroll through your apps, find the "Compass" app, and tap to open it. The Compass app functions like a traditional compass, intuitively displaying the four cardinal directions and helping you orient yourself.
To set a waypoint, locate the small icon in the bottom-left corner of your Compass app screen and tap it. This will add a waypoint to your current location, which you can customize to suit your needs. You have the option to change the symbol representing your waypoint and even alter its color for visual identification. Below these options, you will find detailed location coordinates. Once you have made your desired changes, tap "OK" in the top-right corner to save your waypoint settings.
The Backtrack feature is a lifeline for adventurers, allowing you to retrace your steps back to a starting point. To activate Backtrack, tap the icon located in the bottom-right corner of the Compass app, then select "Record Path" from the menu. The app will begin recording your path, marking the route taken. When you're ready to retrace your steps, simply select "Retrace Path," and your Apple Watch will display the way back to your starting point. To stop recording or clear a path, tap the icon again and select "Delete Path."
By mastering the Compass, Waypoints, and Backtrack features on your Apple Watch Series 11, you are equipped with powerful navigation tools that enhance your outdoor experiences.
