ABB investigate all those ways; • anyone using maintenance procedures or devices, recommended by ABB or not, must check thoroughly that neither personal safety nor the safety devices are endangered by mode of installation, use, maintenance or the instruments used.
• Zone Selectivity Zone selectivity is an evolution of time selectivity. The releases create a dialogue between the output and input block signals. For further details about Zone Selectivity with ABB SACE circuit-breakers, and especially SACE Emax 3, consult chapter "4 - Zone Selectivity" starting on page 117.

To ensure your unit is in secure conditions, the Wizard window immediate asks you to change the PIN code on first power up; this is strongly recommended by ABB. Description The PIN code is a number formed by six digits, each of which can be given a value from 0 to 9; the default value is: 000001 and can be changed in the Settings - Device-New PIN menu.
ABB and its affiliates are not liable for damages and/or losses related to such security breaches, unauthorized accesses, interference, intrusion, loss and/or theft of data or information.
4 - Secure operating environment ABB advises customers to opt for the Defense in Depth approach, which uses multi-layered independent security levels to reduce the risk of a cyber-attack being successful. The Defense in Depth strategy requires the customer to create a perimeter as outer layer that acts as the first line of defense.
Last firmware upgrade Installation of security certificate Account management is implemented on ABB Ekip Connect and EPiC Softwares. The security protocols of the system depend on the communication module chosen. Check in the corresponding section of this user Manual to find out whether the selected communication module supports a secure protocol option.
The firmware upgrades are handled by ABB Software (Ekip Connect and EPiC), which download the latest firmware image versions from the ABB library. For this reason, users will not be provided with MD5 or CRC fields to ensure the images are legitimate.
Consult the specific section of this User manual for indications concerning secure communication protocols that require certificate management. User account management The ABB Ekip Connect and EPiC Software include integrated management of user accounts based on the Role Based Access Control (RBAC) concept. ABB Ekip Connect and EPiC Software enable roles with defined rights to be created.
Disclaimer - BLE Activation of communication via Bluetooth Low Energy means that Ekip Aware must be ready for wireless connection: security of data and the Bluetooth Low Energy connection between the protection release and your device is guaranteed thanks to the ABB EPiC application and the Pairing configuration described in the chapter dedicated to the BLE connection.

Iinst The protection preserves the integrity of the circuit-breaker and installation during high current values. High current values require shorter reaction times than the instantaneous short-circuit protection. ABB defines the threshold and trip time of the protection. The protection cannot be disabled.

ABB | SACE Emax 3 4 - Zone Selectivity Description Zone Selectivity is an evolution of time selectivity (see chapter "5 - Selectivity between ABB SACE circuit- breakers"), in which a dialog is created between the trip units through input and output blocking signals: an active input blocking signal means that the circuit-breaker must remain closed.
Page 122
ABB | SACE Emax 3 Zone Selectivity with ABB SACE Emax 3 circuit-breakers configured with Ekip Aware enable zone Selectivity to be extended to several protections: S, I, G, D, RELT, MCR, S2, Gext, MDGF (availability depends on the model of protection SACE Emax 2 and Emax 3 release and the optional packages present).

NOTE: if a numerical alarm is displayed (e.g.: 30002), consult the Events page of the System Interface to identify the error. Contact ABB if the code is not included in the list. The complete list is available in the Diagnostic - Events menu, where a set of information is given for each event: icon of the type of event, name of event, date and time of recording.
To activate Bluetooth Low Energy communication, the release must be pre-engineered for a wireless connection. The ABB EPiC application and the pairing configuration described in the table of the next paragraph ensure that the data and Bluetooth Low Energy connection between the protective release and device are secure.
