Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series

Fixed-configuration switches combining Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and PoE for
small enterprise LAN access and branch office deployments.
The Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series combines multilayer Fast Ethernet and Gigabit
Ethernet switching with integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE), simplifying the
deployment of converged IP telephony, wireless access, video surveillance, and
other new applications. The Catalyst 3560 Series is also available in a compact
silent PoE model ideal for deployments in office workspaces, classrooms, and other
space-constrained environments and enable intelligent services using enterprise-
class features outside of the wiring closet.
These standalone, fixed-configuration switches offer up to 48 10/100/1000 ports
and support network-wide intelligent services such as advanced quality of service
(QoS), rate limiting, access control lists (ACLs), multicast management, and
high-performance IP routing.
The Catalyst 3560 Series can be purchased with the IP Base (formerly called SMI)
or IP Services (formerly called EMI) licenses, and can be upgraded in the field to
Advanced IP Services licenses. The IP Base license offers advanced QoS,
rate-limiting, ACLs, and basic routing functionality. The IP Services license provides
a richer set of enterprise-class features, including advanced hardware-based IP
Unicast and IP Multicast routing as well as Policy-based Routing (PBR). The
Advanced IP Services license adds IPv6 routing.

Converged Services
Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series include switches that
deliver Gigabit Ethernet speed with integrated
PoE, supporting both Cisco pre-standard and
IEEE 802.3af PoE devices. At speeds of 1000
Mbps, Gigabit Ethernet provides the bandwidth
to meet new and evolving network demands,
alleviate bottlenecks, and boost performance, while
increasing the return on existing infrastructure
investments. PoE removes the cost of extending
wall power to each IP phone, wireless access point,
or other PoE devices.
Integrated Security
With a wide range of security features, businesses
can protect important information, keep unauthorized
people off the network, prevent malicious viruses
and worms from infecting the network, guard privacy,
and maintain uninterrupted operation. Cisco Network
Admission Control (NAC) helps implement network-
wide security policies by validating the security
posture of hosts seeking to connect to the network.
Cisco Identity-based Network Services (IBNS)
prevents unauthorized access and helps ensure
that users get only their designated privileges.
And features like DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP
Inspection, and IP Source Guard help prevent
against man-in-the-middle attacks.
