VAS (Voice Activated System) recording

When the VAS recording function is turned on, and if the unit is in recording pause mode, the
unit will automatically start to record as soon as it detects audio at a level above a certain thresh-
old.
The unit will pause recording when the detected audio level falls below the threshold.
Note:
· VAS recording is available only when MIC ALC is set to ON.
1.
While the recorder is stopped, press the MENU/STOP button for at least two
(2) seconds.
2.
Press the Y or T button to select "VOICE", then press the W button.
3.
Press the Y or T button to select "VAS", then press the
W button.
4.
Press the Y or T button to select "ON", then press the
W button.
5.
Press the MENU/STOP button twice to exit from the menu setting mode.
6.
Press the PAUSE/REC button.
Recording begins automatically when the unit detects audio.
Note:
· You can set the voice sensing level by pressing the Y or T button during recording.
The recorder displays the sensing level ("VAS" 1: Low – "VAS" 5: High).
· Set this function to OFF if you are recording important material. Otherwise, if the source
audio level is too low, the unit will not detect the audio and will not start recording.
