cAutION: to prevent personal injury,
wear eye protection that meets ANSI Z87.1
and OSHA standards.
Setup
1. Attach the 8100-1 hose (with the quick coupler and
shutoff valve) to the fluid extractor as shown.
2. Close the shutoff valve on the hose by fully turning
the valve clockwise or counterclockwise.
3. Select and insert the appropriate suction tube into
the opening of the fluid to be extracted. If using the
brake bleeder suction hose to bleed brakes, attach
the suction tube to the brake bleeder on the wheel
cylinder or caliper. Note: The air pump operation
works best for bleeding brakes.
4. Attach the selected suction tube to the quick coupler
on the 8100-1 suction adapter hose.
5. Decide whether the 8100 will be operated manually
or with shop air.

Operating Instructions
for:
Manual Operation
1. Close the shutoff valve on top of the 8100 by fully
turning the valve clockwise or counterclockwise.
2. Open the shutoff valve on the 8100-1 suction
adapter hose. Turn the valve 1/4 turn so the valve
handle is in-line with the hose.
3. Move the pump handle on the 8100 up and down
to start extracting fluid. Once the fluid has begun to
be drawn into the 8100, stop pumping. The siphon
effect created will continue to draw the fluid into
the 8100.
Air Pump Operation
1. Open the shutoff on the 8100-1 suction adapter
hose. Turn the valve 1/4 turn so the valve handle
is in-line with the hose.
2. Connect shop air to the air fitting on the 8100.
3. Open the shutoff valve on the air supply valve. Turn
the valve 1/4 turn so the valve handle is in-line with
the air supply line.
4. The air pump will draw fluid into the 8100.
Brake Bleeder Suction Hose
Refer to the vehicle service manual, and follow the
manufacturer's brake bleeding sequence.
cAutION: to prevent equipment damage, do not
completely empty the master cylinder of brake
fluid.
1. Attach the 8100-2 hose to the brake bleeder.
2. With the air pump operating, open the brake bleeder
screw 1/2 to 1 turn. Brake fluid will be sucked
through the 8100-2 hose and into the 8100.
3. Close the bleeder screw when no air bubbles are
seen in the fluid being sucked through the 8100-2
hose.
4. Check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder,
and refill if needed.
5. Repeat the procedure for the next bleeder.
to empty the 8100, remove the 8100-1 suction adapter
hose and pour the contents into an appropriate waste
container.
