warning NOTE: Cover can become etched or cloudy as a result of grinding. This is normal.

Ground Coffee Chart

IF MAKING. . . USE. . .
4 cups of coffee 3 Tablespoons ground coffee
8 cups of coffee 5 Tablespoons ground coffee
12 cups of coffee 8 Tablespoons ground coffee

Grinding Whole Spices

IF GRINDING. . . USE. . .
Peppercorns Up to 3 Tablespoons
Cinnamon Sticks Up to 2 Tablespoons (broken in thirds)
Whole Cloves Up to 3 Tablespoons
Coriander Seeds Up to 3 Tablespoons
Flax Seed Up to 3 Tablespoons

Press Grind Button for 10–20 seconds at a time until spices are ground to desired coarseness.

Tips for Best Results

  • For best flavor, store coffee beans in a dark, airtight container.
  • Grind beans immediately before brewing.
  • Coffee flavor and strength is a personal preference. Vary the type of coffee beans, amount of coffee and fineness of grind to find the flavor you prefer.
  • Grinder should be cleaned between coffee and spice grinding to help prevent taste and odor transfer.
  • Grinder is not recommended for fresh herbs.

How to Use

  1. Before first use, clean the coffee grinder.
  2. Hold plug and pull slowly to release stored cord. With coffee grinder unplugged, remove cover by lifting straight up. Place up to ½ cup (125 ml) of coffee beans or specified amount of whole spices (see Grinding Whole Spices chart) in the bowl.
  3. Replace cover. Plug into 120 volt electrical outlet.
  4. Press grind button. Grind 10 to 20 seconds, depending on amount and desired grind; coarse for percolators and medium to fine for drip coffeemakers. For spices, see Grinding Whole Spices chart.
    warning Note: The coffee grinder will only operate with cover in place and grind button pressed.

How To Clean


Shock Hazard:

  • Unplug unit before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse base, plug or cord in water or other liquid.
  1. Unplug from outlet before cleaning.
  2. Carefully wipe bowl and blades with soft, damp cloth. Be careful cleaning around sharp blades. Rinse and dry cover.
  3. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
  4. Hold bottom of coffee grinder and turn top portion to wind cord for storage inside grinder.

Supply cord replacement and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Call the provided customer service number for information on examination, repair, or adjustment.
  9. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
  10. Do not use outdoors.
  11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces, including stove.
  12. Check hopper (bowl) for presence of foreign objects before using.
  13. Do not use appliance for other than intended purpose.
  14. Do not remove cover until blade has completely stopped rotating.
  15. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  16. Check that the appliance is OFF ( ) before plugging cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn the control to OFF ( ); then remove plug from wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
  17. Do not attempt to defeat any interlock mechanism.

  18. In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
