GUIDELINES F OREXTENSION
CORDS
Usea proper e xtension c ord.Make
sureyourextension c ordis ingood
condition. Whenusinganextension
cord,besureto useoneheavy enough
tocarrythecurrent y ourproduct will
draw. A n undersized c ordwillcause
a dropinlinevoltage, r esulting in
lossofpower andoverheating. The
tablebelow showsthecorrect s ize
to usedepending o ncordlength and
nameplate a mpere rating. I f indoubt,
usethenextheavier g auge. T he
smaller t hegaugenumber, theheavier
thecord.
Besureyourextensioncord is
properlywiredandingoodcondition.
Always replace a damaged e xtension
cordorhaveit repaired bya qualified
person before usingit. Protect your
extension cordsfromsharpobjects,
excessive h eatanddamporwetareas.
Use a separate electrical
circuit
for
your tools. This circuit must not be
less than a #18 wire with a 9 A time lag
fuse. NOTE: When using an extension
cord on a circuit with a #18 wire, the
extension cord must not exceed 25 feet
in length. Before connecting the tool to
the power line, make sure the switch
is in the OFF position and the electric
current is rated the same as the current
stamped on the motor nameplate,
running at a lower voltage will damage
the motor.
