Front Gear Case Removal

Rear Shift Lever [A]
The speed sensor connector [B] is disconnected during
Unscrew the front gear case bolts [C] and remove the
front gear case [D].
The cam follower [A] and the damper spring [B] come off
with the gear case.
Check that the shift shaft oil seal and replace it if dam-
Front Gear Case Installation
Tighten the front gear case bolts as follows.
Tighten the bolt  and bolt  alternately until contact to
the mating surface of the left crankcase.
Tighten the bolts in the order shown.
Torque - Front Gear Case Bolts:
M8: 29 N·m (3.0 kgf·m, 21 ft·lb)
M6: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 104 in·lb)

Rubber Boot [A]
Remove the driven gear assy mounting bolts [B] and pry
the assy [C] off the case.
