DANGER Danger of explosion Improper operation of the EOC system can lead to an explosion in potentially explosive at- mospheres. • Please observe the specifications on the operation of the EOC system in potentially explosive atmospheres.

    The evaluation unit has a start-up delay that prevents an error message during the drive start-up stage. If the EOC system has shut down the drive, you must first rectify the cause of the malfunc- tion. You can continue to use the transmitter.

    The magnet system is designed in such a way that at a sensor distance of 2 ... 5 mm, the switch-off temperature is approx. 125 °C. With larger distances between transmitter and sensor, the EOC system operates at lower temperatures.

    Application planning Check the delivery for damage and for completeness. Report any damage and/or missing parts to Flender immediately. The transmitter (142) is only mounted in the coupling if it is delivered with a coupling. De- pending on the scope of the order, the sensor (244) and evaluation unit (245) are supplied loose.

    Assembly Retrofitting an EOC system to already installed FLUDEX couplings is possible without re- working for sizes 297 to 887, provided that they are NOT used in potentially explosive atmo- spheres. As standard, the EOC system is combined with the 160 °C fusible safety plug.

You can only monitor the speed of FLUDEX couplings with an internal gear drive. Set the start-up delay time at least as long as the acceleration time of the machine connec- ted to the coupling housing.

    Commissioning In order to ensure safe commissioning, carry out various tests prior to commissioning. Testing before commissioning • Make sure that the transmitter (142) is properly screwed into the coupling. • Make sure that the sensor (244) is properly installed on a sufficiently rigid bracket and at the correct distance from the transmitter (142).

    • Before starting any work, make sure that the unit is free from loads. Check the EOC system every 12 months for any abnormalities. Carry out a visual inspection. The system components are not intended for repair. The system can only be repaired by re- placing components.
