Remove the faceplate cover of your old thermostat and label the wires in their corresponding terminals before disconnecting them. 3. Disconnect your now labeled wires, and remove your old thermostat’s wall plate. Note: If only 4 wires or less are present in your current thermostat, contact a local professional to complete your installation.
