5-1. Troubleshooting Procedure

Checking the Power Supply and Initial Status
After being plugged in, is the input status
of 5V and 12V normal?

Does Y2 oscillate?
Y
Does the voltage of the Casode terminal on
the PIN127 of U1 change from 1.65V?
Is the output of PIN2 on U4 normal at 3.3V?
Is the output of PIN3 on U5
normal at 1.2V?
When you move the P/U to the outer radius
and turn the power on,
does it move back to the inner radius?
Does the tray in and out properly?
Does the laser diode turn on properly?
Does the "Focus UP/DOWN" function work
properly?
Does the "Focus Lock" feature work properly?
Does the disc turn properly?
Does the "Spindle Lock" feature work
properly?

Check the connection of the
power short and cable.
Check the power supply to Y1 and,
if necessary, replace it.
Check the reset port.
Check to see if PIN 3 on U4 is 5V and if it is
normal (5V), replace U4.
Check to see PIN 3 on U5 is 3.3V and if it is
normal (3.3V),replace U5.
Refer if SLED dosen't work.
Refer if TRAY OPEN/CLOSE dosen'tss
work.

If so, replace U3.
Refer to "When the Spindle Motor does not
