Because a hedge trimmer is a high-
speed cutting tool with a very long reach
some special safety precautions must be
observed to reduce the risk of personal
injury. Careless or improper use may
cause serious or even fatal injury.
STIHL's philosophy is to continually
improve all of its products. As a result,
engineering changes and improve-
ments are made from time to time. If
the operating characteristics or the
appearance of your cultivator attach-
ment differs from those described in this
manual, please contact your STIHL
dealer for information and assistance.
This manual contains warnings,
operating and safety precautions for
the STIHL hedge trimmer attachment.
Pay special attention to the safety
precautions outlined on pages 3 to 10.

This STIHL hedge trimmer attachment
may be mounted only to the approved
STIHL power tool models (powerhead
with shaft and handle system). For
approved models, see chapter "Moun-
ting the Hedge Trimmer".
Other combinations of the hedge
trimmer attachment and non-approved
power tools are not permitted since
they may result in accidents or serious
personal injury.
This owner's manual contains only
descriptions of procedures and
conditions in which the attachment and
power tool combination differs from the
basic power tool.
For correct operation of your hedge trim-
mer attachment and powerhead, you
must also refer to the appropriate chap-
ters of the owner's manual for the basic
power tool.
If the basic power tool model is a STIHL
HL 75 or HL 75 K, the owner's manual
for that model applies in its entirety.
