5 AIS app The Smart Eye AIS app supports installation, firmware updates and helps customizing the AIS system settings such as sensitivity levels, volume and warning activation speed. To access the app, contact Smart Eye. 5.1 AIS system installation The app live view function will give instant feedback if the camera is placed correct or not. -

The AIS system supports multiple sources of vehicle speed input; GNSS, calculates vehicle speed based on satellite positioning updates. CAN, the AIS system collects the vehicle speed information from the vehicle using OBD or Smart Eye UDS protocol. -

Correct mounting of this product ensures best functionality, durability and that Smart Eye warranty conditions are applicable. If Smart Eye installation instructions are not followed, warranty conditions are not valid. There is also risk for system failure, that the warning signals are not triggered properly or warnings could be triggered without reasonable cause. -

Enable vehicle battery connection and set vehicle ignition to on. Await green led indicator on front of camera. e) In the AIS app on your phone or tablet, navigate to the feature “Adjust camera”. - Page 13 If needed, fixate the cables to avoid any tear or damage to the cables and to make sure there will be no interference from driver or passengers. The AIS is now installed. The system has an automated calibration functionality, activated at a speed on or above 50 km/h, and does not require any user interference.

The camera unit is equipped with speakers and led lights which alerts with sound signals, voice messages and light signals when making the driver aware that a warning has been initiated (picture 5). “road target”, the driver is considered to have his or her eyes on the road. If the driver is looking outside of that road target area for too long, the AIS system will issue a distraction warning. -

(notifications explained in picture 6 below). Picture 6. warning notifications guide. If the AIS reacts to several behaviors at the same time, it will give notification of the highest priority warning. If the driver aborts the dangerous behavior before the voice playback is initiated, the system will cancel the remaining sound playback. -

7.3 System error If the system indicates “System Error”, use the information provided in the AIS app for information and troubleshooting (picture 7). The notification will be turned off automatically when source of error is eliminated. If the system error cannot be eliminated, contact Smart Eye service. -

Note that when starting up the AIS system for the first time, the GPS will require some additional time for initial calibration. If the GPS is unable to determine the vehicle's speed due to a delay in acquiring a signal, no warnings will be given. -
