Hardware Problems
On some servers, operation of the Diagnostic Adapter with both USB and PS/2
devices simultaneously connected to the server can cause errors within the operating
system including an inadvertent shutdown. If this occurs, switch the PS/2 devices on
your system to USB devices.

Integrated Management Display

If the server has an Integrated Management Display (IMD), perform the following
actions to make sure it is working:
Be sure that the IMD backlight is on.
— If the IMD backlight is not on, check the IMD cable to be sure that it is not
damaged and that it is properly connected.
— If the IMD backlight is on, check the IMD contrast. You can adjust the level
of contrast on the IMD by using the up and down arrows. Press the up arrow
key to increase the contrast, and press the down arrow key to decrease the
contrast. For further information, refer to your server-specific user
documentation.
If the IMD displays the

message, then replace the IMD.
